The Challenge
The growing number and complexity of cyberattacks place ever higher demands on data protection and recoverability. The organization needed to upgrade its existing cloud solution with a reliable local infrastructure that would provide an additional level of protection and faster recovery in the event of an incident.
Paraflow's solution
After analyzing the IT environment to ensure the smooth operation of the hardware and software components of the overall architecture, the Paraflow team implemented a data storage and protection solution based on QNAP QuTS hero. Specific backup policies and procedures were developed and implemented for the needs of the organization.
The solution includes:
- a scalable NAS system with high-speed network and Fibre Channel connectivity;
- deduplication and compression for efficient use of disk capacity;
- data immutability policies and protected snapshots for additional protection against ransomware;
- role-based access control (RBAC) and integration with Active Directory;
- integration with Veeam Backup & Replication and automated backup processes;
- proactive monitoring and automatic notifications about the system status.
Scope of activities
The project was implemented in stages, without interruption of operational activities. After implementation, functional and load tests were conducted, as well as tests of the backup and recovery processes.
